Easter Window Clings

Today's artwork project idea I got from Skip To My Lou. You'll need clear contact paper, scissors, tape and we used markers instead of paint.
Cut out squares of contact paper. Tape it down with clear side up. Paint or draw on it.

When done, cut another piece of square contact paper so it's about the same size as the previous one, and peal the back off and place it over the top of the drawn piece. Try to get the bubbles out.

Then draw some egg shapes or whatever you want on the back of the paper side

Cut them out and peel the back off and cling it to your window

Muffin Tin Monday

This is our first Muffin Tin Monday featured on Her Cup Overfloweth. Tristan is not a big veggie eater, so maybe I'll have some luck using the muffin tins. I also need to buy another one so Brayden can participate in it as well.

Today was a no theme day, which is good, since this was my first time doing this. So here is what we had...

Top Roll: 1 banana, cottage cheese & carrot sticks
Bottom Roll: 3 chicken tenders, gold fish crackers & peanut butter

I do want to add, Tristan ate some of the carrots! Yay! No hesitation. Didn't eat all of them but it's a step forward.

Cleaning Those Sippy Cups

Those sippy cups can be a little tricky to clean. Especially, inside the top where the stopper is. I tried many things trying to get in the creases to clean out the gunk in milk. Finally after trial and error I figured out a great way to clean it. All you need is a toothpick. Yeap, a toothpick.
Check this out...
Here is a pic of before, you can't really see the gunk that's in there with a naked eye

Take the toothpick and get in the crease

Look what we didn't see

Letter Of The Week - R Is For Rootbeer Floats

This week we've been working with the letter R. Today Tristan made a rootbeer float. But, because you need vanilla ice cream for rootbeer floats, and we didn't have any, we made it instead.
So first, we had to make the vanilla ice cream.

What you'll need...

1 Tablespoon Sugar
1/2 Cup Milk
1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla
6 Tablespoons Rock Salt (I didn't have any rock salt so we just used regular salt)
1 Gallon Size Ziplock Bag
2 Pint Size Ziplock Bags
Ice

1. Fill the gallon size ziplock bag with ice, about 1/2 full and add the salt and seal it.

2. Mix the sugar, milk and vanilla in the small pint size bag and seal it.
Then place it in the 2nd pint size bag.
I recommend this because, the first time we tried this, the pint size bag broke, and the ice cream was very salty. So it's just an extra precaution.

3. Open up the large bag and put the small inside and seal the large bag

4. Shake the bag and you'll see the mixture in the small bags turn into ice cream.
(It'll take about 5 minutes of shaking)

Open the small bag, and place in a bowl

Tristan had to try a bite

Yummy!

Anyway....

Time to make the rootbeer float.
Put about half of the mixed ice cream in the bottom of a cup

Then pore some rootbeer in the cup

Then put the remaining ice cream in the cup.
Drink and enjoy.

Letter Of The Week - R Is For Rainbow

I know that St. Patrick's Day is done, but we're still working on the letter R, and rainbows. So today Tristan is working on writing the letter "R". He didn't do to bad, but to show him how good he did, I put a blue star on the really god R's. Below is his worksheet...which you can find here. First he colored the rainbow...

Then, with some help, he wrote his R's

After he wrote his R's, he made a hand print rainbow.
We used red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple construction paper,
marker and scissors.

Then, I drew his hand print on each color of construction paper.

After we drew the hand prints, I cut the hand prints out

Then Tristan glued them together

Finally, he had a hand print rainbow

St. Patrick's Day Lunch

Another thing that happen today, I was preparing my boys' lunch, and it was all green. Those darn mischievous leprechauns did it again. Now I know why they were playing with the macaroni and cheese. Tristan, wasn't sure if he wanted to eat it. I reassured him that it tasted the same, it was just green. Brayden and Jayden didn't care, it was food and they ate it no problem. After I had Tristan try it, he ate all of up.

The green lunch...

Green macaroni & cheese, green cottage cheese & green shamrock shape jello

Here's Tristan eating his green lunch.

Visit From The Mischievous Leprechauns - St. Patrick's Day

This morning my boy's woke up to a mess. The mischievous leprechauns were here and did some unusual things around the house.

First, they left gold chocolate coins all over the house

They stacked the kitchen chairs on top of each other

They took the macaroni and cheese boxes out of the pantry, and played with them

Flipped the coffee table over

and hid some gifts in the hallway.

Brayden, starting eating the chocolate coins,

Tristan started blowing bubbles

And Jayden checked out his ball
